Don Malarcik has represented people accused of awful things since 1993. He is the founding partner of Malarcik, Pierce, Munyer, and Will, in Akron, Ohio, where he appears in Federal and State Court. He has represented over 20 individuals facing the death penalty at trial and has never had a client sentenced to death. He has served as "Learned Counsel" on federal death penalty cases in Dayton, Ohio, Nashville, Detroit, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and Brooklyn, New York. Don was given the "Life Saver Award" for excellence in capital litigation by the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys in 2020. Don is a Fellow of the American Board of Criminal Lawyers and a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Akron School of Law, where he teaches Trial Advocacy. He appears regularly on CourtTV. He is married, has three kids, and a 180-pound Great Dane named Truly Innocent Malarcik.
